Paris: According to Raaz News | A French online intelligence website called Intelligence Online has claimed in a report that, amid recent tensions between the United States and Iran, a senior Pakistani military figure is playing a significant role in shaping Washington’s approach toward Tehran.

According to the report, retired General Amir, Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar, has emerged as one of the behind-the-scenes players in the ongoing developments. The intelligence website has claimed that, as the Donald Trump administration reactivates its “maximum pressure” policy against Iran, the role of this Pakistani military official has become more prominent in Washington’s intelligence and defense circles.

The report states that a senior Pakistani general, whose name was mentioned based on intelligence sources, is acting as an unofficial bridge between Washington and Tehran. According to this claim, he remains in constant contact with key U.S. administration officials, including the national security adviser, to seek a so-called “middle path” solution regarding Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence.

The website has also claimed that Pakistan’s military leadership has provided Washington with information about Iran’s domestic situation and the activities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to the report, the aim of this cooperation has been to persuade the United States to avoid an all-out war and instead focus on options such as limited targeted attacks (Surgical Strikes) or increased economic pressure.

According to Intelligence Online, Pakistan is pursuing two major objectives through this role: first, to revive defense relations with the United States, which have experienced a degree of cooling in recent years; and second, to prevent any potential confrontation between Tehran and Washington from spilling over into Pakistan’s borders and to preserve domestic security stability.

The report further states that some sources in Washington have described the Pakistani general as a “reliable partner” with a deep understanding of the region’s geopolitical complexities. For this reason, special attention is being paid to consultations with Pakistani military officials during the process of formulating the U.S. strategy toward Iran.

The French website has also noted that this Pakistani official has been in undisclosed contact with some Saudi and Israeli intelligence officials within a framework referred to as the “Board of Peace meeting,” with the aim of laying the groundwork for the formation of a broader regional coalition against Iran.

Overall, the report portrays the influence and readiness of Pakistan’s military leadership to implement the illegitimate and threatening political and military objectives of the United States and Israel toward the region, particularly Iran. These actions are often met with denials by political officials, which in itself reflects the duality in Pakistan’s regional and global policymaking.

However, so far, no official in Islamabad or Doha has publicly responded to these allegations. Observers believe that Pakistan’s role could affect regional security calculations and the balance of power among major powers in the Middle East.
