Washington : According to Raaz News | According to a CENTCOM statement issued on November 7, Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, has ordered the establishment of Task Force Iron Gate, a unit comprising approximately 20 military and civilian personnel based in Tampa, Florida.

The task force will coordinate with other U.S. government agencies to prevent the movement of advanced weapons systems, dual-use technologies, sanctioned materials, and illicit revenue streams across Iran’s land borders and the Caspian Sea.

Cooper said the initiative would reinforce what he described as the success of the U.S. naval blockade against Iran, adding that closer coordination between CENTCOM and other government agencies would further restrict Tehran’s ability to finance terrorism, rebuild weapons production facilities, and replenish its military capabilities.

The CENTCOM commander also stated that the U.S. naval blockade had prevented Iran from exporting more than $25 billion worth of crude oil in recent months.

The statement added that strict maritime enforcement remains in effect against all vessels entering or departing Iranian ports.
