Islamabad: According to Raaz News, the Secretary-General of the Mecca Defense Alliance held separate meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and President to discuss strengthening defense cooperation and the importance of the pact for regional stability.

Retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood, the first Secretary-General of the Mecca Defense Alliance, held separate meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss enhancing defense and strategic cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.

During his meeting with Nauman Mahmood, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated him on his appointment as the first Secretary-General of the Mecca Defense Alliance. He described the signing of the Mecca Defense Pact as a historic milestone in strengthening regional peace, unity, and stability.

Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security, stating that Pakistan would stand alongside the Kingdom.

Retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood also met with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidential Palace in Pakistan.

During the meeting, President Zardari expressed hope that the trilateral defense agreement would contribute to strengthening regional peace and stability through defense cooperation.

Emphasizing the agreement’s exclusively defensive nature, Zardari stated that it was not directed against any country and did not signify the formation of a new bloc. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes and the expansion of regional and multilateral cooperation.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, was also present at the meeting.

It is worth noting that the Mecca Defense Pact was signed on August 7 of this year by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. Under the agreement, an attack against any one of the member countries is to be considered an attack against all members. Nauman Mahmood will lead the alliance’s General Secretariat, which is scheduled to be based in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
